School Sisters of Notre Dame

Responding with compassion, meeting changing needs

Global Ministry

Africa
For over a quarter of a century our sisters from the Mankato Province have served in Africa, continuing to respond to needs in the African Church for the education of young women. Today, with our African sisters, we minister as teachers, parish outreach workers, spiritual directors, and nurses in Nigeria, Ghana, and Kenya.

Latin America
In the 1960s we established missions among Guatemalan Indians. Incorporating our long-standing tradition of education and empowerment of people, we centered early missions on schools, preparation of catechists, and adult education. Today we serve the people of Guatemala as teachers, spiritual directors, and parish workers.
